Our program attracts families seeking a strong education and solid values At APS... We students as individuals and believe that children learn best in small classes so that teachers can meet the needs of each child. We understand the significance of excellent teachers, coaches and staff members who become adult friends, mentors and motivators of students. We accept the partnership between parent, student and Aiken Prep and work to communicate regularly and often. We value the pursuit of academic excellence and inculcate a love of learning to last a lifetime by making students go beyond the “test answer” to see that they can use the information or skill in a new way. We expect students to learn how and why as well as accumulate knowledge. We promote participation and set up our daily schedule and yearly calendar to allow students to be scholars, athletes, thespians and school leaders at the same time. No one stands on the sidelines at APS, if you are on a team or in a play you participate, regardless of the score. We stand for familiar values: respect and responsibility for self, others and our environment. We have a record of success in educating leaders of communities and the schools they have attended. We expect APS graduates to take their place as citizens and leaders.
