Busy Signal - You call the phone number and get a regular (not rapid) busy signal. You can see how full our lines are in some cities from here.
Ring No Answer/RNA - You call the phone number and there is no answer (it rings).
Fast busy/telco busy - You call the phone number and get a rapid busy signal. Capacity problem with telco.
Dead air - You call the phone number and get nothing except maybe static and silence.
Telco message - Bells and "all circuits are busy" or other message from disembodied voice.
Can't connect - You cannot connect at all - it never gets to where it wants to know your username and password, just sits there.
Can't authenticate - It has taken a disliking to your password and does not want to let you in - invalid username/password message. Note: We log these so we can usually figure out quickly what's up.
Dropped connection - You are periodically being disconnected without provokation. Windows 95 users, click here first to check WINS Configuration is disabled.
Slow connection - You're going nowhere fast, and want to know why. Windows 95 users, click here first to check WINS Configuration is disabled.
Modem reports a low connect speed - You usually get 46K but tonight you're getting 19.2K.
