Direct Payment

Atlantic.Net offers a payment option for your Internet account called Direct Payment, in which we debit your monthly access fees directly from your checking account and apply it to your balance. This means:

  • Convenient monthly payments
  • No checks to write or stamps to use

How Does Direct Payment Work?
Direct Payment uses the ACH (Automated Clearing House), the electronic network that connects financial institutions together. Every month, Atlantic.Net will initiate a charge which is transmitted to your bank for processing, and your bank will electronic transmit your Internet access fees to Atlantic.Net's bank.

What if I wish to cancel Direct Payment?
To cancel direct payment, simply call 1-800-921-9328 or send us an e-mail.

Why would I want to use Direct Payment?
Direct Payment is an easy way to pay your monthly access fees. There are no checks to write, no bills to pay, and no stamps to waste. It saves time and it saves paper. If you consider the thousands of invoices that Atlantic.Net sends each month, along with the envelopes and the return envelopes, the check you make your payment with, plus the environmental impact of mailing that much paper, making your payments electronically can make quite an impact.

Is Direct Payment safe?
Direct payment is in fact much safer than using your credit card. Unlike payment with a credit card, electronic ACH payments require a membership into the ACH network, and a written authorization to make charges to your account. Your bank and the ACH network protect you from fraudulent charges through strict regulations on the procedures related to ACH processing. Atlantic.Net also requires a voided check on file to ensure the security of our customers and to prevent fraudulent charges.

When will Atlantic.Net debit my access fee?
Atlantic.Net processes Direct Payment transactions much like credit cards. For example, your June access fee would be processed between the 15th and the 20th of May. This allows time for the transaction to be processed through the ACH network and to receive any declined charges before the service date begins. Customers whose charges are declined by their bank will be contacted via e-mail before the 1st of the month to ensure uninterrupted service.

Upon receipt of this form and your voided check, Atlantic.Net will begin Direct Payment for your account. If you do not have a printer, simply call our office at 1-800-921-9328 and we will be happy to send you an authorization form.
