Marty Puranik
Jose Sanchez

Manoj "Marty" Puranik is president, Chief Executive Officer and one of the founders of Atlantic.Net. Since its inception in 1994, Marty has fueled the progress of Atlantic.Net, recently named one of the fastest-growing private companies in the nation by Inc. magazine and one of Florida's "Businesses to Watch" by Florida Trend magazine.

Marty and co-founder Jose Sanchez started Atlantic.Net while undergraduate students at the University of Florida. In 1995, operating under the name Internet Connect Company, Marty and Jose launched one of North Florida's first commercial Internet services in Gainesville and nearby Ocala. Today, Atlantic.Net offers e-business services worldwide.

Over the past seven years, Marty has designed and directed Atlantic.Net's major strategies: to develop Atlantic.Net's network as an Internet SuperCarrier, capable of transmitting high-speed data and voice transmissions via cable modem, DSL and wireless; to become certified as a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) and as a Cisco Powered Network; and to grow organically as well as by acquisition. His talent at negotiating is also key, and one of many carefully honed business skills he relies on to guide the company. Under Marty's leadership, Atlantic.Net has acquired 13 Internet Service Providers, grown to more than 80 employees, and expanded its network across seven Southeastern states, serving more than 55,000 customers.

Much of Marty's success as a leader is based on a powerful combination of talents: vision and focus. Atlantic.Net repeatedly faces challenges ranging from hiring the technical ingenuity capable of enhancing service and network features, to competing against mega-mergers and well-established telecommunications monopolies with multi-million dollar advertising campaigns. Thanks to a sound business model, responsible spending and the ability to respond quickly to a changing business climate, Atlantic.Net continues to thrive.

Marty's business acumen also has earned him respect among technology professionals and entrepreneurs. His innovative mind and ability to motivate make him a trusted leader. He is on the Board of Directors of the Florida Internet Service Providers Association (FISPA) and is often asked to speak about his entrepreneurial pursuits with reporters, civic organizations, and University of Florida students. Marty is a senior at the University of Florida majoring in Decision and Information Science.
