Student Body and Conduct

During the 1996-97 school year, there were 20 boarding boys and 45 day students in the Middle School. Six Boarding boys and 141 day students are in the Lower School. Students come from Florida, Georgia, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, as well as from Japan, Korea, Mexico, and Russia. Fifteen percent of Middle School students are international students, while 18 percent represent various minority groups.

Aiken Prep has a three-tiered disciplinary system and a Disciplinary Committee that meets to make divisions on individual cases as needed. A student Judiciary Board was established in the Middle School during the 1995-96 academic year and will continue to evolve and play a more prominent adjunct role in the handling of disciplinary matters. Honesty, integrity, and respect for others are emphasized at Aiken Prep, and students are expected to abide by the rules clearly stated in the Student and Parent Handbook.
